National Squash League (NSL) 2009

Dear Squashers,

Happy New Year.

We have now registered our teams for NSL.
We have dropped the D team as there are not enough D players to make it a viable team. As such Felix, Frank and myself will be guest stars at the E and Veterans Div II teams when they are short of players.

Progress of our teams will be published on this blog.

Go easy on the Bak Kuah and stuff during the CNY period. League starts mid Feb.

See you in court.

Jeremy

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We intend to field 3 teams in NSL 2009.

D grade
E grade
Veterans (D & E combined)

We will not be fielding an F team as there are insufficient players to have a viable F team.

At this point in time, we are looking for ground staff who are able to captain the teams for next year's NSL. It will make it easier for opponents to contact the team captains for last minute arrangements.

Please send me an email if you are able to volunteer as a captain of one of the teams.

Copies of this years SSRA grading list have already been emailed to most of you.

Jeremy

NSL 2009 Chairman's Letter

Appended below is the NSL Chairman's letter to clubs for NSL 2009

Date: 11 December 2008

Dear Fellow Squashers,
On behalf of the Singapore Squash Rackets Association (SSRA), I would like to invite all clubs and aspiring players to form teams to participate in this years’ National Squash League (NSL) 2009 starting 16th February.
The NSL, formerly known as the Inter-Club League has had been in existence since the
1970s, and the competition has been extremely competitive since its inception and remains
to be with the recent years’ results only being decided on the very last day of the League. The 2009 NSL Sub-Committee consisting of the following persons will help to run the event:
Chairman : Bernard Kheng (NP) Vice Chairman : Edwin Lee (SAFRA) Secretary : Vincent Yeo (SAFRA) Committee Members : Molly Chua (SAFRA) Club Representative : Dave Phua (UCSC) : Manmindar Singh (SCC) Advisor : Raymond Tan (SGCC)
In addition to this, we welcome club representatives to join us on the committee for the NSL and tournaments organization like the Individual Graded Open.
Registration will be limited to the maximum of 12 players per team where once all places are filled, there will be no further addition allowed. Also feeding of players can only come from one grade lower during the tournament. However exceptions shall be available to smaller clubs who may have one or two other teams in the lower grades to avoid giving walkover instead.
The entry form for registration and individual members registration is attached and is also available and can be downloaded from the SSRA web-site www.ssra.org.sg
In addition to this, SSRA would like to remind all teams submitting to ensure all details of the forms are completely filled up. Any important details missing like the Identification No. and date of birth will render the entry void. This is to enable SSRA to keep track of all players and ensure that players are correctly graded for all events and competitions.

Also
payments for all submissions not received latest by mid-season break else will be disqualified from the League.
ALL ENTRIES AND PAYMENTS FOR THE NSL MUST REACH THE OFFICE
NOT LATER THAN 16 JANUARY 2009. FOR LAST MINUTE ENTRIES, YOU MAY EMAIL THEM DIRECTLY TO ME AT Bernard.kheng@gmail.com or the office email ssra@ssra.org.sg
Players grading lists have been sent to you in a separate mailer and the registrations
should be based on the grades indicated there. I have attached a copy of the latest grading list for your information.
The Organizing Committee welcomes any feedback or comments that will help us to further
improve the NSL and make Squash a better sport to play and compete. With this, I look forward to your participation. Thank you.
Yours truly,
Bernard Kheng NSL Chairman
